About ToolLink Africa
Connecting East Africa to Better Hardware & Industrial Supply
1 The Challenge
Hardware, tools, building materials, and machinery sourcing across East Africa has historically been fragmented, opaque, and time-consuming. Contractors, engineers, and retail hardware shops often struggle to compare prices, verify product availability, or obtain structured quotations from reliable suppliers.
2 The Concept
ToolLink was conceived to solve this fragmentation by creating a dedicated digital B2B/B2C marketplace tailored specifically for tools, machinery, plumbing, electrical, and hardware trade. Our goal is to bring transparency, efficiency, and clarity to trade sourcing.
3 The Platform Today
ToolLink currently provides an integrated digital ecosystem equipping suppliers with dedicated storefronts and procurement managers with tools for efficient sourcing:
- Digital Supplier Storefronts: Verified store profiles, catalog management, and stock visibility.
- MOQ & Tiered Volume Pricing: Clear Minimum Order Quantity rules and quantity price brackets.
- Request for Quotation (RFQ) Engine: Structured RFQ creation and supplier bidding workflows.
- Secure Payment Integration: Integrated M-Pesa STK Push and commercial payment processing.
- Seller Portal: Comprehensive dashboard for managing products, orders, RFQs, and earnings.
4 Our Future Vision
As ToolLink expands, our roadmap includes developing deeper capabilities to support regional commerce across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda:
- We aim to expand regional logistics integrations for seamless cross-border freight tracking.
- We plan to introduce enhanced trade financing and credit facilities for verified buyers.
- We are building more sophisticated supplier auditing and verification mechanisms.
- We aspire to build one of East Africa's most connected digital marketplaces for industrial hardware trade.
